President buries autonomy and vows referendum

Following controversy over a leaked conversation in which PDeCAT official David Bonivhí spoke about an “autonomy” candidate should the sovereignty process fail, Catalan president Carles Puigdemont's reaction was blunt. Burying the notion of autonomy he said in a tweet: “Millions in Catalonia understand it and demand a referendum. And they will have it.”
