Puigdemont and Colau insist they will not run for president
Carles Puigdemont and Ada Colau will not compete as candidates in the next Catalan elections, which will be held no later than March 2018, and will form part of the new Catalan state if the “Yes” vote wins in the referendum planned for September.
Both had previously said they would not run for president in the next Catalan elections but they left listeners in no doubt yesterday during a special programme on Ràdio Barcelona to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the campaign 'No child without a toy “, a charity which collects toys for children in need.
