A good year for books with a number of surprises

2014 has been a great year for books, not only in the number but also for the quality. A number of books related to the events of 1714 have attracted readers, but also themes of politics and social questions and historical novels and studies of the Great War. Not so predicatable, have been three books related to The Holocaust, and one in particular, Les set caixes, by Dory Sontheimer who on her mother's death discovers seven boxes of letters and learns that her mother, a Jew, was saved from the death camps and brought here to Barcelona.
