Schultz gets 100% support in fight against Merkel
In an unprecedented vote, the delegates at this weekend's German Socialdemocrat party gave their full support to the former president of the European Parliament, Martin Schultz. Of the 605 possible delegate votes, 605 went to Scultz, something unheard of in a party known for its internal division. Schultz if now not only party leader, but also the candidate who will face Angela Merkel in the general elections in September. The support Schulytz received will have a strong influence on the electorate now that Merkel is facing dissent in her own party ranks.
