OPEC extends cuts to oil supply by nine months

OPEC and other major oil producers such as Russia and Mexico, together responsible for more than half of the world’s oil supply, yesterday decided to extend cuts in production by nine months until March 2018. The decision was expected and ministers justified it by alluding to the need to drain stocks of crude oil in consumer countries, which are above the average for the last five years.
