Arrimadas says she will be president of “all Catalans”

Ciutadans is holding firm to its belief that there will be no referendum and that the Generalitat president Carles Puigdemont will be forced to call new elections. On Saturday the party chose Inés Arrimadas to be its candidate for the presidency. In her first speech, Arrimadas said that she wants to be “the president of all Catalans,” and that anyone who aims to govern the country must accept that “Catalonia is diverse and plural.” She also said that once in the presidency she will order an audit of the recent dealings of the Generalitat to uncover any irregularities.
