Throughout June, almost a score of restaurants in Tossa de Mar are putting on their own special menus to show off the best of the local fare. At this time of year that means Fideus, the delicious traditional Catalan dish made of noodles, seafood and pork.

From June 7. Cherry fair

From June 7 to July 7, some 20 restaurants and bakeries in Caldes de Montbui will be showing just how versatile cherries can be with a variety of dishes and surprising recipes that include the fruit. The festival also includes complementary concerts and other activities.

June 23. Coca and cava

Barcelona’s Lesseps market kicks off the midsummer festival of Sant Joan by inviting both its regulars and visitors to join in with coca and cava on June 23. Market-goers and stall holders will be starting the celebrations early, between 11am and 1pm.

June 11. Tapes festival

Tapes are among the most popular traditional snack dishes. On the afternoon of Sunday June 11, the Ciutat Meridiana market in the Nou Barris district of Barcelona will hold its annual festival, where visitors are invited to try freshly prepared and original tapas.

All month. Shellfish serenade

Shellfish takes pride of place in the restaurants of Estartit in June, forming part of delicious menus of local produce especially designed for the festivities. The participating restaurants will have a wide variety of shellfish to choose from followed by delicious fish dishes.

Igualada once again repeats its very popular Vadafoddies festival. The event consists of two days of talks and workshops devoted to culinary trends, as well as a nighttime market dedicated to produce and tapes. On June 16 and 17 in the Anoia capital.
