Firefighters suspect the fire that swept through the area of Pedrógão Grande in the centre of the country last week, was intentional. President of the firefighters’ union Jaime Marta Soares, said that the fire which continues to burn and has killed at least 64, “is in origins in a criminal act.” This contradicts official claims of a dry storm starting the blaze.
