Muguruza into Birmingham quarter-finals
Garbiñe Muguruza (6) yesterday saw off the American Alison Riske (45) 6-1, 6-4 as she continues her bid to reach Wimbledon in the best form possible. A finalist at Wimbledon in 2015, Muguruza is now into the quarter-finals in Birmingham. Muguruza’s strength was too much for Riske, especially in the first set, and she sealed her triumph with an ace on the third match point.
