Filmoteca to screen classic Sitges films

The Sitges Film Festival helped Sam Raimi achieve international renown with its screening of The evil dead, a low budget 1981 film that would go on to heavily influence the genre. The cult film opened a retrospective of 50 years of Sitges films at the Filmoteca yesterday, to be followed by other classics over the next three months, including, among others, The exorcist and The thing.
