Road fatalities cause concern over summer total

The number of fatalities on the roads this summer has set alarm bells ringing. Since June 21, some 20 people have lost their lives on Catalonia’s roads, with 84 deaths in total projected for the season, just about the same as last summer (83). When the Catalan government presented its road safety campaign on July 13, it estimated 71 deaths, a figure that, sadly, is starting to look overly optimistic.
