Right-wing priest given sabbatical year to study
Custodio Ballester, the priest of the Immaculada Concepció parish in Hospitalet de Llobregat, has been relieved of his post. The archbishop of Barcelona has given Ballester a sabbatical year to devote to study. In removing the priest, the Church saves itself controversy, as the ultraconservative priest has spoken out against the “grave sin” of homosexuality, and has taken part in far right processions.
