Security queues continue in El Prat
“I got to the airport at 7am, four hours before my flight. I’ve been queuing for three hours.” This was how one passenger described their experience at Barcelona’s El Prat airport yesterday on social media. She and many other passengers have resorted to Twitter to complain about the queues they have had to endure to get to the departure lounge, especially early in the morning. As on previous days, many passengers who knew nothing of the industrial action by airport security staff missed flights.
At the time of going to print, the queues had been stabilised, with average waiting times of 40 minutes. Since Friday, the Eulen company contracted by operator Aena to provide security have brought in extra staff.
Meanwhile, the Catalan authorities have asked Aena to explain what measures it intends to take to solve the crisis taking place in the airport in recent days.
