CPI up by one tenth in August, inflation at 2%

The consumer price index (CPI) rose to 1.6% in August driven by the rise in fuel prices, according to data released yesterday by Spain’s National Statistics Institute (INE). The data also highlights the increase in car prices and housing. Conversely, steadying electricity prices have softened the rise in the CPI along with communications and insurance.
