An iconic Warhol at the CaixaForum

Just as iconic as any rock or film star, Warhol in turn was an absolute creator of icons. As part of one of the most creatively liberating movements of the 20th century, Warhol, however, seemed to understand that his work would remain as relevant today as it was back then, 30 years ago at the time of his death. His work has transcended a century in a way few of his peers can boast, with the exception of Picasso and Dali. Few can deny the influence this artist had on the development of art in the latter part of last century. Warhol was also fundamental in introducing new technologies into art. For those who want to explore these aspects of this multifaceted creator, a retrospective organised with the Picasso Museum starts as of today at CaixaForum Barcelona with 352 works by the artist, including paintings, sculptures, drawings, serigraphs, films, magazines, objects and photographs.
