Two north Italian regions vote for more autonomy

Two northern Italian regions voted for greater autonomy on Sunday. With most votes counted by early Monday, the results in Lombardy and Veneto “send a message” to the government in Rome, said Veneto’s president, Luca Zaia. Over 98% of more than two million voters in Veneto voted in favour of autonomy, while in Lombardy, some 95% of about three million people voted in favour.
