Francesc Torres new rector at the Polytechnic
Professor of Telecommunications engineering Francesc Torres will be the new rector of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) for the next four years after defeating his opponent, current rector Enric Fossas, in elections held on Wednesday. In a tight race, Torres won 50.23% of the votes according to provisional results with 100% of the votes counted. Only 12.47% of the census voted.
