The march on Brussels begins
Just a few days after the election campaign gets underway, the Belgian capital will be the scene of a mass demonstration of support for President Carles Puigdemont and the four Catalan ministers in exile there. The demonstration, to be held on December 7, is being organised by the ANC and Òmnium and designed, in part, to put pressure on the Belgian courts to see that justice is done for the exiles, as well as to make it clear that Catalans are looking to the EU to step in and help find a solution for the crisis. Already 44,000 people have registered in the ANC Telegram “Let’s fill Brussels” app, and the organisers are in contact with authorities there to make sure there is as little disruption to daily life for the locals as possible.
