Pain medication increases by 56% in just six years
The prescription of opioid drugs has increased by 56% in Catalonia in the last six years, says the Catalan Society of Pain of the Academy of Medical Sciences of Catalonia. This increase is due to the increase in life expectancy , the number of pathologies and the fact that health professionals are more aware of opioids and are becoming more confident using these treatments.
