Pianist and composer Carles Santos dies at 77
Pianist and composer Carles Santos died yesterday aged 77. The 2008 National Music Award winner passed away in his hometown of Vinaròs, in the community of Valencia. Considered both brilliant and unclassifiable in equal parts, Santos received many major distinctions during his long and prolific career, such as the Sant Jordi Cross in 1999, or the Circle of Fine Arts Gold Medal in 2007.
