Half a million not earning enough for a 'decent life'

Around half a million workers (between 475,300 and 692,000 according to data collected in 2016) form part of the Catalonia now referred to as “poor workers”. A recent report shows that workers with salaries of below €1,171, the threshold set by the European Social Charter based on 60% of the average income, “have a monthly average salary that does not allow them to lead a decent life.” According to the report, about half of such workers earn less than €710 per month as they are on part-time contracts.
