UGT demands end to 155 and urgency in forming government

The secretary general of the UGT union in Catalonia, Camil Ros, sees 2017 as a year “lost from the perspective of labour” and demands on the one hand, an end to Article 155 “that has held up many developments, especially in social policies” and on the other, for the establishment of a stable government for Catalonia as soon as possible. While he welcomed recent employment figures he reminded the press yesterday that only one worker in 10 has “stable employment”. Ros also said that he believes that this will be a year of “bargaining, mobilisation and probably conflict.”
