Couple arrested as children found malnourished
A father and mother were arrested in California yesterday and face charges for torture after it was discovered that they had kept their 13 children in unhealthy conditions. The children, aged between 2 and 29 years of age, were found bound to beds and with signs of malnutrition in the family home. The police discovered the incident because one of the victims, a 17-year-old girl, managed to escape from her family home in the city of Perris and called the police from a telephone she had found in the house.
