HRW sees global resistance as curbing populism

The advance of populism slowed in 2017 due to resistance in a number countries , according to Human Rights Watch (HRW), which warned of the risk of major parties adopting nationalist and discriminatory ideas. After what seemed an unstoppable ascent of populism , mainly as a result of the victory of rump in the US, Emmanuel Macron’s election in France marked a turning point.
