Repsol to invest €25m in shutdown

Repsol will invest over €25 million in the temporary shutdown of the chemical division of its industrial complex in the Tarragona plant. The work, to begin in late January will last a few weeks, and involve inspection, maintenance and investments in technological and environmental innovation, as well as development and repairs, and cleaning of equipment and machinery. The shutdown is intended to guarantee the operation of the plants, energy efficiency and competitiveness. The work involves the temporary suspension of the activity of part of the industrial complex, and is expected to total 400, 000 man-hours. This type of maintenance shutdown forms part of a programme of scheduled and routine maintenance for inspection, overhaul, improvement and updating of the units, as well as optimising performance, operating efficiency and above all, to guarantee the highest safety standards.
