Catalan share of Spanish economy continues to grow

The Catalan economy continues to grow, according to figures released yesterday by the INE state statistics office. In 2013, the 193 billion euros of Catalan GDP made up 18.8% of the entire Spanish economy. Now, the first estimates from the INE suggest that figure has risen to 19.2%, at 223.1 billion euros of GDP. The figure is the highest registered since statistics began to be gathered in 2000. What’s more, GDP per capita also grew in 2017 in Catalonia, to 29,936 euros a year, a 7.7% increase.
