Infantile stress differs according to the sex

The experience of stress in childhood affects males and females differently, according to a study on mice by a team of scientists from the Institute of Neurosciences of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. In the report published in the scientific journal Plos One, the authors explain that “early stress has a huge impact on behaviour and physiology of the nervous system when the individual reaches adulthood”. The authors claim stress in infancy prepares us for experiences we may have in the future.
