Minister “offended” by yellow ribbon

Yesterday it was simply seeing PDeCAT spokesman Carlos Campuzano wearing a yellow ribbon on the lapel of his jacket which unnerved the Justice Minister Rafael Catalá. In his reply to a question from Campuzano, Catalá said that he found wearing the ribbon in solidarity with the political prisoners to be “offensive”. He denied that German courts had “refuted” Spanish justice and launched a warning about the yellow ribbon. “You are fortunate, you are lucky, you can come to this chamber with this yellow ribbon which is an offence, and claim that there are political prisoners in Spain, there are no political prisoners in Spain! They are politicians who are in prison,” he snapped.
