Large consumers commit most electrity fraud
Most of the fraud committed in electricity manipulation scams does not involve the more vulnerable consumers as many may think, but large consumers, namely, industrial and service companies as well as businesses and individuals with high consumption. This was confirmed by sources at Endesa, which also indicated that during 2017 the company detected 34,000 cases of fraud in Catalonia, representing 50% of total detected by the company statewide. One out of five inspections detected fraud.
