City Council evicts plaça Catalunya squatter protest

Municipal police, along with officials from the Barcelona emergency social welfare service (CUESB) yesterday evicted the campers from two protest camps in plaça Catalunya, one a protest by homeless citizens and the other, a pro-independence camp which had occupied the square for two months. The campers had been warned some days ago of the council’s intentions.
