Exports by Catalan firms up 4.9% at start of year

Exports by Catalan firms grew 4.9% in January and February, compared with the same period last year. The figures released by the economy ministry show a new record for this time of year. With a total of €11.5 bn in foreign sales, Catalonia tops Spain’s regions and makes up 25.4% of total exports. The best-selling sectors were the chemical and automotive industries.
