Teen sentenced to death for killing “rapist” husband
A 19-year-old girl in Sudan was sentenced to death on Thursday for murdering her husband after he tried to rape her, said campaigners, calling on the president to pardon her as she was forced into a child marriage and had acted in self-defence. After escaping from her family the girl was duped into returned home and was forced to marry. She refused to have sexual relations but her new husband raped her as his relatives held her down. The following day he tried to rape her again and she stabbed him.
