Commission recognises six Eurecat innovations

The European Commission has recognised six innovations from the Eurecat Technology Centre of Catalonia in such areas as eHealth, robotics and audiovisuals, as part of the Innovation Radar initiative, which aims to identify innovations in Europe with a high market potential. A team of independent experts dubbed the Eurecat technology centre a “key innovative agent” in the European ecosystem.

One of the innovations singled out by the Commission is the Multisensor software, which interprets and summarises news and economic information in different languages to unify information from different sources. Also in the field of communications and the audiovisual sector, the Autopost technology was recognised, which is a flexible post-production tool that simplifies the creation of special effects, allowing small producers to be more competitive.

In health, the Connecare programme is an integrated personalised management system that guarantees more efficient monitoring and improves the quality of life of patients with chronic illnesses, while in the robotics sector, Bots2Rec is an autonomous robot for dismantling structures made of asbestos. The other two initiatives recongised are related to industry 4.0: a positioning system for interiors and technology desinged to improve plastic injection processes.
