Santa Florentina festival returns
The Santa Florentina music festival in Arenys de Munt reaches its 20th edition this year with a programme of nine concerts that will, as always, be held in the Jalpí castle of Arenys de Munt, from August 7 to 24. According to festival director, Carlos Hartmann, the event has stayed true to its original philosophy of offering “the combination of a programme with young singers and domestic and international musicians with recognised established artists.”
The festival will open with a gala of choirs, featuring the Ensemble Vocal Catalunya, Urgell’s Polifònica and the Coral Sant Sadurní. August 8 will feature a concert of opera duets with Olga Priavalova, Julia Cubo, Jordi Galán, and Eduardo Moreno, while August 10 will have a piano recital by Levi Avagnan. The festival will end with performances by soprano Natalia Labordette and guitarist Javier García Verdugo on August 21 and on the last day a gala of tenors.
