China and US avoid an all-out trade war

China and the US have called a truce in their trade war. Focusing on the denuclearisation of North Korea, Beijing and Washington have moved to reduce tension and curb the trade war which began with Donald Trump imposing tariffs on Chinese steel and aluminium and China retaliating with tariffs to 128 American products. After two days of negotiations in Washington, the two powers announced they had reached a consensus on reducing the US trade deficit with the Asian country. China will increase imports of US goods and services and the US will increaser i agricultural exports. The announcement does not mean all differences have been ironed out between the two countries.
