Co-ops play increasing role in food production

37% of Catalan food production comes from cooperatives. The increase has been a constant in recent years, strengthening the business model. Last year’s turnover was €1.6 billion, averaging at €7.5 million per cooperative. The Federation of Agricultural Cooperatives of Catalonia (FCAC) says the sector is in “good health” and that “more and more people” are buying their products.
