Catalan official detained over 1-0 census

A court yesterday authorised the Spanish police to search several premises in the investigation into the organisers of the independence referendum on 1-O. The head of the Office of the Vice Presidency, Economy and Finance, Daniel Gimeno, who had already been interrogated by the Civil Guard on May 16, was taken in for questioning before later being released. The Spanish police joined the investigation in November following anonymous complaints about the use of personal data in the census.
