Refugees dividing Europe

The informal mini-summit held yesterday in Brussels revealed the internal division of the European block over the management of refugees both for the absence of almost half of its members and for the intention of France and Germany to ignore those that did not attend when proposing solutions. In spite of not deciding on anything specific, the 16 Heads of State and Government -Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Greece, Austria, Bulgaria, Malta, Belgium, Holland, Croatia, Slovenia, Denmark, Finland, Sweden and Luxembourg - made an effort yesterday to create alliances between countries willing to reform migration policy. Far from a united stance, the summit did offer the possibility of action.
