Lack of skilled workers a concern
Catalan companies are more concerned about the lack of skilled workers than in the past, according to the latest report on the economic and labour situation of Catalan SMEs, prepared by Fepime, the small business forum of Foment del Treball. The figure has grown markedly since 2014 when 11.3 % of companies expressed concern to almost 25% by 2017. The upward trend is also repeated in the case of micro companies and companies with 50 or more employees, according to Fepime. “A qualified workforce conditions not only growth but also the future of companies. We face challenges that require the joint effort of companies, social agents and administration,” the report states.
