Tusk warns Brexit far from resolved

The continuing crisis in the British government brought a reaction yesterday in Brussels when the European Council President Donald Tusk said at a press conference that the problem generated by the departure of the UK of the EU “is far from resolved”, with or without the former British minister for Brexit David. “Politicians come and go, but the problems they have created for people continue,” adding that: “I can only regret that the idea of Brexit has not left along with Davis and Johnson.”

During the press conference of the European Commission spokesperson Margaritis Schinas said that Davis’ resignation is not a problem for the institution and that she will continue to negotiate Brexit with London “in good will”. “What matters to us is the framework of the negotiation that our27 member states have established for us, with which we are fully complying.”
