Locals defending Pineda del Castell evicted by police
Catalan and local police yesterday morning evicted people in Castelldefels who for 12 days had camped out to protect the Pineda del Castell wooded area from being cut down to make way for a block of flats. The locals accused the council and the developer of “betrayal”, arguing that they always intended to cut down the trees rather than reach agreement.
