Lorries diverted to AP-7 and AP-2 as from yesterday
As from yesterday, lorries travelling on the the N-340 highway between Peñíscola and Hospitalet de l’Infant and Altafulla in Vilafranca Sud are obliged to divert to the AP-7 motorway and those on the N-240 between the Borges Blanques and Montblanc must divert to the AP-2. The change comes after central government decreed a safety plan in response to a long-standing demand by local bodies to reduce road fatalities and accidents in the controversial sections of the highway system. Catalan police set up controls but most drivers complied with the changes.
