Mossos negotiate working conditions

The Generalitat and the representatives of the Mossos d’Esquadra agreed yesterday to create a working table to improve the working conditions of the Catalan police force. The Minister of the Interior, Miquel Buch, acknowledged that the members of the force “have lost many of their rights over the years.” The parties met as police offices gathered outside the ministry in support of their claims and to protest that they are still owed €4,4 million for extra hours and special services given during the Àgora campaign involving the October-1 referendum. Many of the officers’ claims date back to an agreement made between the Generalitat and the Mossos in 2008 which has only partially been implemented. The two parties will begin negotiations next week. The union spokesperson, David José Mañas says he is convinced that agreement will be reached that will satisfy both parties.
