New accusation against candidate
The confirmation of the conservative judge Brett Kavanaugh as a member of the Supreme Court of the United States is in greater danger than before. On Monday morning, The New Yorker magazine published details of another presumed case of sexual abuse against Donald Trump’s candidate for the vacancy. The new case goes back to the early eighties, when Kavanaugh had just entered Yale. Deborah Ramirez, a student at the same university claims that at an end of course party, Kavanaugh stripped in front of her and pushed his genitals into her face. Kavanaugh denied the charges, assuring that it was more “slander” to discredit him and to stain his name and reputation. However, as this is the second accusation, the appointment which looked like a forgone conclusion is now less clear. It is possible that the Senate vote may be delayed until after the November elections.
