CPI rises 2.2% for third consecutive month

The most recent Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 2.2% in September for the third consecutive month, according to data published yesterday by Spain’s national bureau of statistics (INE). The monthly rise was influenced electricity prices, which offset the moderation in alcohol, beverage and foodstuffs. Price increases have keep slightly above 2% since May whereas from February to April, they barely exceeded 1%. The accumulative price index giving the result of inflation will be published October 11.
