10% of those at risk of skin cancer have disease

The Barcelona Association of Pharmacists yesterday presented the results of a study that found 10% of those identified as being at risk of skin cancer by pharmacists actually had the disease. Some 400 people participated in the campaign, 301 of whom were classified as having a high possibility of suffering from the disease. The study findings highlight that pharmacists’ intervention in the form of screening the population at risk could help to improve the early detection of melanoma.
