IOC announces Refugee Team for 2020 Olympics
The IOC has decided that an Olympic refugee team will participate in the Tokyo Games, as it did in Rio de Janeiro in 2016. The International Olympic Committee wishes to send a message of solidarity and hope to the millions of refugee athletes all over the planet “In an ideal world, this team should not exist. But, unfortunately, the reasons it was created before Rio 2016 persist.”
