Prices rose 1.4% in Catalonia during 2018

The consumer price index (CPI) closed 2018 with an increase of 1.4% in Catalonia, according to data published by the Spanish Institute of Statistics (INE) yesterday. In Spain, the figure was 1.2% year-on-year, after falling by more than one point in the last two months of the year (from 2.3% in October). The sector with highest price rise was real estate, with an increase of 3.1%; this was followed by communications, 2.1%, and hotels, cafes and restaurants, whose prices rose by 2%.
