One third of glaciers doomed to disappear

A landmark report warns that a third of the glaciers in the Hindu Kush-Himalaya (HKH) region are going to melt because of climate change. This will have serious consequences for nearly two billion people. For the 250 million people living in the HKH region the glaciers are a crucial water store, and 1.65 billion rely on the rivers flowing from the peaks into India, Pakistan, China and other nations.
