Buteflika to run for office a fifth time in Algeria

The president of Algeria, Abdelaziz Buteflika, announced yesterday he will be running for re-election, despite his precarious state of health, which excludes him almost completely from public life. At 82 years of age, this would be his fifth run for office. He said he would seek to create a broad platform to initiate wide-ranging reforms across many sectors.
